One dead after single-vehicle crash in Sand Springs

One person is dead after a single-vehicle wreck Saturday evening in Sand Springs, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed.
The crash happened along a stretch of South 177th West Avenue. Two people were in the vehicle when it crashed, killing one of them, trooper Dwight Durant said.
The condition of the other occupant and the details of the collision were not released.

OHP, Sand Springs Fire and EMSA are on the scene of a fatal wreck on 177th W. Ave near 35th St. South.
The accident occurred when a pickup was traveling northbound and lost control on gravel then went off the road to the west and hit a tree.
The driver of the pickup has been pronounced dead. No one else was in the truck

OHP investigated a deadly crash in Sand Springs.
It happened near 177th West Avenue and 35th Street South.
Troopers said one truck ran off the road and into a tree. No other vehicles were involved.
They do not believe alcohol was involved.
The victim was later identified as Joe Joseph, 45, of Quapaw.

Sand Springs, Okla. — A person is dead, following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Sand Springs.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol say the incident happened near 177th West Avenue and 35th Street South.
The unidentified driver ran off the road and hit a tree. It's believed the driver was going too fast.
Troopers don't believe alcohol played a part in the crash.
As of early Sunday morning, the driver's age also hasn't been released.

Quapaw man identified as Sand Springs crash victim

SAND SPRINGS — A driver who died after crashing into a tree in Sand Springs on Saturday evening has been identified as a 45-year-old man from Quapaw.
Joe Joseph was northbound on 177th West Avenue just north of 41st Street when his 2002 Ford Explorer departed the left side of the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree around 6:10 p.m., according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
Joseph was pinned inside the SUV for about 2½ hours and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The report states he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.

Tricare Now Covering Transgender Treatment Options
The U.S. military's Tricare health care system now covers transgender military family members and retirees, despite the official policy not yet going live, a top official said. "I'm not going to wait for the final policy," Navy Vice Adm. Raquel Bono, head of the Defense Health Agency, said in a wide-ranging interview with Military.com on Thursday at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. "We're going to go ahead and do that because that's what our patients need," she said. The policy, published for public comment in the Federal Register in February, will allow for hormone therapy and mental health counseling for "gender dysphoria," the clinical term for those who identify as a different gender than the sex they were assigned at birth. The Scriptures were removed from the desk of Maj. Steve Lewis of the 310th Space Wing in response to a letter sent Wednesday by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, which said the holy book’s presence violates Air Force policy and the Constitution’s establishment clause.
Mikey Weinstein, who heads the MRFF, praised the Air Force’s decision to remove the Bible.
“The 310th ‘Space’ Wing is NOT called the 310th ‘Space For My Personal Proselytizing Christian Bible Shrine’ Wing for a damn good reason,” Mr. Weinstein said in a statement.

It all began when Jordan's teacher assigned a quiz asking students at West Memorial Junior High School in Katy, Texas, to label statements as “fact, assertion, or opinion.”
Among the statements were “America is the most free country on Earth” and “there is a God.” After Jordan labeled the latter as a “fact,” her teacher told her to deny God or get an "F."
“A kid was literally graded against her faith in God in a classroom,” Jordan’s mother declared.

Trump is controlled opposition
Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), has this to say about Trump:
"I think there's a small possibility that this gentleman is a phantom candidate," Curbelo said, as quoted by The Miami Herald. "Mr. Trump has a close friendship with Bill and Hillary Clinton. They were at his last wedding. He has contributed to the Clintons' foundation. He has contributed to Mrs. Clinton's Senate campaigns. All of this is very suspicious.

Meningitis outbreaks among gay men have experts puzzled
As cases of meningitis, a rare and potentially fatal disease, popped up in cities nationwide over the past several years, public health officials noticed a trend: many of those infected were gay men. There’s no known medical reason why meningitis, which is transmitted through saliva, would spread more among gay and bisexual men
