Yellowstone: Volcanic Eruption vs. Earthquake

Yellowstone: Volcanic Eruption vs. Earthquake
The lava pool beneath Yellowstone National Park is more than twice as big as scientists previously believed, that's according to new research from the Geological Society of America. Scientists from the University of Utah say the lake of molten lava is nearly 50 miles long and 12 miles wide. Jake Lowenstern, a scientist with the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory, says even a small eruption could cause a minor disaster.

Indonesian volcano erupts, hundreds evacuated
Hundreds were evacuated within a 3-kilometer radius of an Indonesian volcano in Sumatra, which erupted for the third time in three months, officials told Reuters. No casualties were reported. Mount Sinabung ejected a 7km-high plume of ash into the air on Sunday, which led to the evacuation. Four villages with around 1,293 inhabitants around the mountain were pulled out with the aid of the military; however, that number is expected to rise.

Deep 5.0 earthquake rattles wide area of Japan; no damage reported
Japanese authorities said there were no reports of injuries or damage Sunday after a magnitude 5.0 jolted a wide area of the country. Shaking was felt in Tokyo, Chiba and five other prefectures, but no tsunami alerts were issued, Japan Today said.

Strong earthquake shakes Chile’s capital
A strong earthquake has rocked central Chile, causing buildings to sway in the capital of Santiago. There were no immediate reports of major damage or deaths. The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that the quake had a magnitude of 6.6, and its epicenter was located about 65 kilometers (40 miles) southwest of the city of Coquimbo. It's depth was 10 kilometers (6 miles).

Magnitude-6.6 quake strikes north-central Chile
A 6.6-magnitude earthquake rocked north-central Chile on Thursday, causing buildings to sway in the capital and nervous people to run out into the streets. But Chile's emergency services office said no damages to infrastructure were reported and Chile's Navy discarded the possibility of a tsunami.

Strong earthquake hits eastern Taiwan
The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake hit Thursday evening and measured magnitude 6.6. It said it was centered in a remote mountainous area 45 kilometers (28 miles) south-southwest of the eastern coastal city of Hualian at a depth of just 9.3 kilometers (5.8 miles). It swayed buildings in the capital, Taipei.

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck eastern Taiwan, shaking buildings in the capital and prompting the island’s biggest chipmaker to temporarily evacuate factory workers. One person was injured and there were no immediate reports of major damage.

Magnitude 6.4 quake shakes Tonga
A magnitude 6.4 earthquake has been reported off the coast of Neiafu, Tonga. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no risk of a 'destructive' tsunami being generated and impacting New Zealand, the Pacific Islands or Hawaii, but says local tsunamis may occur within 100 kilometres of the epicentre.

Philippines Earthquake Strikes Carmen Again
Officials tell news that a 4.9 magnitude Philippines earthquake today 2013 has hit just after 9:58 pm local time, roughly twelve minutes ago. The quake had a moderate depth however.

12 Injured after Quakes in NE China

There have so far been 12 reports of injuries after two earthquakes shook Songyuan City in northeast China's Jilin Province on Thursday morning, local authorities said. A 5.5-magnitude quake hit the city at 11:03 a.m. Its depth was eight km, and its epicenter was located at 44.6 degrees north latitude and 124.2 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. A second 5.0-magnitude quake at a depth of six km hit the same area at 11:10 a.m, and at least three aftershocks of 3 magnitude or above hit the area during the afternoon.

View of rare solar eclipse in Africa, Europe and America
A rare solar eclipse will sweep Africa, Europe and the United States, allowing a view of the Sun which is totally or partially blocked out by the Moon. The best view of the total eclipse on land will be in central Gabon for about one minute at about 1350 GMT. The total eclipse will then sweep east across the African continent. Partial views will be available in eastern North America and southern Europe.

Obama Reportedly Told Staff He’s ‘Really Good at Killing People’

Obama Reportedly Told Staff He’s ‘Really Good at Killing People’
Obama told his staff that he’s “really good at killing people,” according to a new book set to hit shelves Tuesday. The book, titled “Double Down” and authored by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, reportedly says the Nobel Peace Prize winning president made the comments while discussing drone strikes with his aides.

Book Alleges Obama Told Aides About Drone Strikes: I’m ‘Really Good At Killing People’
A new book covering the 2012 presidential campaign uncovers a series of scathing remarks from political figures, but one alleged comment has stirred controversy around President Barack Obama and his administration’s use of targeted drone strikes.

Drone strike in Pakistan kills head of Pakistan Taliban
A senior Taliban source has confirmed that a U.S. drone strike in Pakistan killed the head of the Pakistan Taliban Friday. Several intelligence, army and militant sources said Friday that Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud is dead, and a senior Taliban source confirmed his death to Reuters. The Taliban source also said Mehsud's funeral would be held Saturday.

Obama says al-Qaida now more active in Iraq
President Barack Obama pledged Friday to help combat an increasingly active al-Qaida in Iraq but stopped short of announcing new commitments of assistance sought by Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Al-Maliki came to the Oval Office requesting additional aid, including weapons and help with intelligence, to fight insurgent violence that has spiked in Iraq since American troops left in 2011.

If all this killing was "working", then how come they are "more active".  Perhaps the administration just needs a distraction from scandals and excuse to increase military involvement.  I thought this guy was given the Nobel "Peace" prize for what he was going to do?  Did they know that what he was going to do was kill thousands of innocent civilians as "collateral damage" from drone strikes?

Perhaps Obama should return the "Peace" prize?

While Obamcare stuns the U.S., ‘leading from behind’ unravels world peace
The U.S. is transfixed by the Obama administration’s massively bungled attempt to nationalize one sixth of the economy, the health welfare system. But the rest of the world watches the slow motion unfolding of another debacle: the loss of post-World War II American leadership of the worldwide alliance for peace and stability.

Too bad Kerry made a slip of the tongue and said that Iran could "make a deal" to get them out of the hot seat.  Conveniently, the "deal" may go sour and the recent news cycles have included several stories about how Iran hates our guts and vows to kill us off, so that public opinion will be primed again for a strike against Iran...

Analysis: US-Iran nuclear deal unlikely to meet Israel’s minimum demands
As is usual for Iranian diplomacy, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came out with contradictory remarks on Sunday. He called Israel “an illegitimate and bastard regime” and the US “an enemy who smiles,” yet he defended President Hassan Rouhani’s negotiations with the West from regime hard-liners opposing the talks, stating, “No one must weaken an official who is busy with work.”

Khamenei: Israel is 'illegitimate, bastard' regime
Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Sunday Israel is 'illegitimate, bastard' regime. He further expressed pessimism about talks with world powers over its disputed nuclear program but backed them. "No one should see our negotiating team as compromisers," Khamenei, Iran's top decision-maker on its nuclear drive, was quoted as saying on his official website.

New ‘Death to America’ songs unveiled in Iran
Hard-liners in Iran have unveiled two new “Death to America” songs at the former US Embassy in Tehran, hoping to keep anger high ahead of nuclear talks with Western powers. They performed the songs Saturday ahead of a planned massive protest Monday to mark the anniversary of the US Embassy takeover in 1979.

'Death to America', 'Down to Israel' chants as Iran celebrates US embassy siege anniversary
Thousands of Iranians chanted “Death to America” on Monday, the anniversary of of the 1979 seizure of the US Embassy. Many saw the calls as a jab at President Hassan Rouhani as he tries to ease tension with Washington...“Students are alert and hate America,” “Our blood in our veins, a gift for our leader” and “Down with Israel,” the crowd’s chants included, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards committed to 'Death to America'
The Revolutionary Guards, the elite Iranian regime's army, said Saturday they are committed to the slogan "Death to America," chanted at official ceremonies, just days before the 34th anniversary of the storming of the American Embassy in Tehran. "The slogan Death to America is the symbol of strength and determination of the Iranian nation against the dominance of the United States, which is an oppressive and untrustworthy nation," said the Revolutionary Guards on their official website.

Bolton: Israel must make 'fateful decision' on Iran strike
Israel does not have much time to make a “fateful decision” about whether to strike Iran’s nuclear sites, former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton said Sunday in a radio interview. “Israel, I think, now faces the fateful decision whether it will allow Iran to get nuclear weapons, thus constituting a true existential threat to Israel,” he said.

Prepare For A Grid-Down Scenario

Prepare For A Grid-Down Scenario
On Nov. 13-14, America’s major electricity generating companies along with the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and government agencies in Canada and Mexico will conduct a drill to test system responses to cyberattacks and physical attacks on the North American electrical grid that cause its widespread failure. The drill is called GridEx II, and it moves the threat of a total electrical blackout that sends the country back into the 19th century from the stuff of science fiction and/or tinfoil hattery to the mainstream.

A Space Laser Designed To Vaporize Dangerous Asteroids

DE-STAR is designed to vaporize or divert asteroids that threaten Earth. This isn't science fiction—I build things that have to work in practice. DE-STAR stands for Directed Energy Solar Targeting of Asteroids and exploRation.

It looks like an open matchbook with lasers on one flap and a photovoltaic panel for power from sunlight on the other. By synchronizing the laser beams, we can create a phased array, which produces a steerable 70-gigawatt beam.

An onboard system receives orders on what to target. Our laser beam would then produce a spot about 100 feet in diameter on an asteroid that's as far away from the satellite as we are from the sun.

The laser would raise an asteroid's surface temperature to thousands of degrees Celsius—hot enough that all known substances evaporate. In less than an hour, DE-STAR could have completely vaporized the asteroid that broke up over Russia this winter, if we had seen it coming.

Plus, as the material evaporates, it creates a thrust in the opposite direction, comparable to the space shuttle's rocket booster. That means you could divert the asteroid by changing its orbit with a shorter laser blast.

DE-STAR could also power things on Earth or in space. You could send the electrical power it produces—not via laser beam but via microwaves. Or you could use the laser to directly propel spacecraft. But here's the thing: For full-blown asteroid vaporization, each flap of the matchbook would have to be six miles long. We've never built a structure this size in space, but if there were the worldwide will, I could see building this within 30 to 50 years. But since it's completely modular, we propose starting smaller. We could begin with a version that's three feet per side right now. With that, you could cook your dinner from 600 miles away.

APA normalizing pedophilia

November 1, 2013

Washington, DC—The American Psychiatric Association (APA) has changed the definition of pedophilia again. In the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-V) of Mental Disorders, the APA changed the classification of pedophilia from a “disorder” to a “sexual orientation,” but following the public outcry, APA released a statement that it was a mistake. “‘Sexual orientation’ is not a term used in the diagnostic criteria for pedophilic disorder, and its use in the DSM-5 text discussion is an error and should read ‘sexual interest.’”

When releasing the original DSM-V, APA said it “marked the end of more than a decade’s journey in revising the criteria for the diagnosis and classification of mental disorders,” with collaboration from “professionals from the mental health and medical communities, patients and their families, and members of the public.”

“Clearly, if reclassifying pedophilia was merely an ‘error,’ it would have been caught in the ‘decade’s journey,’” says Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel.

“Whether it is classified a ‘sexual orientation’ or a ‘sexual interest,’ any effort to legitimize pedophilia will provide pederasts with all the arguments they need to remove age of consent laws, and children will suffer,” says Staver.

The nonscientific, APA changes of pedophilia have been ripe with controversy over the years.

  • In the third edition of the DSM, APA said that one who acted upon one’s sexual attraction to children was a pedophile.

  • In DSM-IV, APA changed the criteria, saying that pedophilia was only a disorder if it “caused clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational or other important areas of functioning.”

  • The Rind study followed and concluded that man-boy “consensual” relationships were not necessarily harmful.

  • Following the public outcry of the Rind study, APA said moral values trumped the scientific study.

  • The original printing of the most recent DSM-V changed pedophilia to a “sexual orientation,” but again the public outcry prompted psychology experts to admit an “error” that will be corrected in “the next printing of the manual.” The DSM-V has been under consideration for ten years. It is hard to accept that its publication was a mistake or an error. It is more likely that the public outcry prompted the APA’s recent press statement.

“The APA has lost credibility with this recent blunder over the classification for pedophilia. The APA has become co-opted by a political agenda. It is hard to see the APA any other way,” says Staver. “The implications of reclassifying natural law, whether it be for same-sex marriage or adult-children relationships, are far-reaching,” Staver concluded.

Food as a weapon: Hitler

Hitler proclaimed that food could be used as a tool “…to discipline the masses” and he did not hesitate to use the control of food as a type of carrot and stick in which he would reward accomplishment and punish failure as well as to ferment preferential class distinctions in which his armed forces received the largest food ration cards.

Skilled workers who were engaged in industries critical to the building of the German war machine, received food ration cards which were slightly less in value.

And, finally, the prisoners and the Jews received the lowest valued Nazi food ration cards.

Food ration cards were also utilized as incentives to increase industrial production and were also increased in value when productive Nazi workers would be promoted. Food ration cards were diminished in value for the failure to meet Nazi production goals.

Hitler’s use of what psychologists refer to as classical conditioning techniques reduced the will of the German population to a pack of Pavlovian dogs who were conditioned to be totally dependent upon the government for their survival.

The presence of 50 million Americans on food stamps would certainly make an applicable parallel to Hitler’s practices and the potential for Obama to follow and Hitler’s footsteps.

Food as a weapon: Stalin

After purging military commanders that might object and replacing them with commanders that would tow the party line, Josef Stalin engaged in his own Soviet-style Holocaust when, in 1932 and 1933, an estimated six to 20 million people in the Ukraine died from starvation.

Stalin implemented his prescription of “hope and change” policies in order to eliminate the Ukrainian’s desire for becoming their own nation-state.

Upon assuming power, the Stalinist Communist regime rapidly nationalized the food industry and forced all of the region’s farms into collectives.

Thus, Stalin’s version of the Holocaust came to fruition in what history has dubbed, the “Holdomor,” in which millions perished in only a two year period when the Soviet government began to exterminate the Ukrainian population by taking control of food and food production.

And why would Stalin do such a thing to his own people?

The Ukrainians were discussing and publicizing some very dangerous ideas about freedom, liberty and the ability to act of political autonomy.

Sexual Predator Honored With U.S. Postage Stamp

Sexual Predator Honored With U.S. Postage Stamp

By Matt Barber

Benjamin Franklin famously quipped, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”

Franklin evidently failed to envisage today’s postmodern left. For the conservative, there exists at least one other certainty, and it is this: The degree to which “progressives” attack you corresponds precisely to the degree with which you challenge any among their assorted, distorted and sordid sacred cows.

What would you call a 33-year-old man who both had and axiomatically acted upon a deviant sexual appetite for underage, drug-addicted, runaway boys? (No, not Jerry Sandusky.)

What would you call a man of whom, as regards sexual preference, his own friend and biographer confessed, “Harvey always had a penchant for young waifs with substance abuse problems”?

In a recent interview with OneNewsNow.com, I called this man “demonstrably, categorically an evil man based on his [statutory] rape of teenage boys.”

But you can call him Harvey Milk.

Harvey Milk’s only claim to fame is that he was the first openly homosexual candidate to be elected to public office (San Francisco city commissioner). His chief cause was to do away with the Judeo-Christian sexual ethic. In 1978 Milk was murdered over a non-related political dispute by fellow Democrat Dan White.

And a “progressive” martyr was born.

Learned Helplessness

Learned Helplessness

In 1967, Martin Seligman’s seminal research was published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology entitled, Failure to Escape Traumatic Shock. Seligman’s experiment led to the term often used today to describe why poor people do not take obvious steps to climb out of their poverty-stricken circumstances.
In Seligman’s dog study, he used dogs that were shocked and at first, demonstrated the ability to escape.
In the second phase of the experiment, when a barrier was erected, repeated shocks to the dogs led to them passively accepting the shocks.
In the third phase, when the barriers were removed, one would expect the dogs to return to escaping the shocks. Stunningly, even when the animal could see a clear path to escape, they continued to passively accept the shocks, hence the development of the “learned helplessness”. The dogs had been conditioned that their actions made no difference in the outcome, hence the term, learned helplessness.

Learned Helplessness and the Poor

Learned helplessness explains why so many poor people remain in their circumstances day after day, year after year and generation after generation. After so long, the recipients of Federal welfare programs such as food stamps have learned to become totally dependent on the government for their sustenance and as a result they become conditioned that their actions make no difference to the quality of their lives. Their life decisions become grounded in believing that success is rooted in luck which explains why the poor play the Lottery with far greater frequency than any one economic group.

Learned helplessness is a well chronicled psychological construct. The poor make for vulnerable victims and can easily be manipulated. The following is a humorous account of what learned helplessness looks like.

Learned helplessness, however, is no joking matter and these factors should be taken into account before cutting the welfare benefits of food stamp recipients. Symptoms of learned helplessness also include:

·         Passivity
·         Giving up
·         Procrastination
·         Decreased problem-solving ability
·         Frustration
·         Low self-esteem

The frustration aspect of learned helplessness is very concerning when it comes to the reduction of food stamp entitlements. The frustration element of this condition will put many poor people on the street in a desperate attempt to satisfy their basic needs. This cost reduction move, done in this manner and at this time, is a reckless and dangerous move which seriously and suddenly impacts the poor and the country as a whole.

Conditioned Helplessness and Psychological Barriers

A man we knew who lived along the highway had a cattle guard painted on the paved approach to his house which was set back about 50 yards from the road. Cows will not cross this type of barrier, but dogs are different so when this guy got a new Labrador puppy, he would walk it up his driveway every day, then carry the pup back and forth across the “cattle guard.” For many years, whenever you drove by, this dog would charge up the driveway and stop at the edge of the painted barrier and bark his fool head off at passing cars.

Deep cuts to country's food stamp program kick in as Congress debates more
Forty-eight million Americans will have their food stamps benefits slashed starting Friday, when a recession-era boost in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program expires. The move to cut back benefits will be the first wide-scale change to the program affecting nearly every single participant. The 13.6 percent cut comes out to about $36 a month less for a family of four getting government assistance or $420 a year, according to the Department of Agriculture.

Obama’s Hunger Games Is a Prelude to Martial Law

I have come to believe that America is poised to experience food riots. I have further come to believe that these food riots will precede riots which will likely occur when we have a banking holiday imposed on the American people. Congress is complicit with the Obama administration in cutting food stamp benefits for 50 million Americans with virtually no warning. On the surface this is reckless. The government is reducing life-sustaining benefits for a population which is conditioned to not seek out critical solutions to their daily problems.

If Obama, does, what many of us in the media believe he is going to do, he will soon provoke a crisis, declare martial law and use food as the ultimate weapon to subjugate an unruly population. This article provides an assessment of these possibilities.

Beta Testing the Poor
It began with the EBT cards going down for a couple of hours, which prevented many of the poor from buying food. The net result was that it didn’t even take a day for civil unrest to rear its ugly head before the riots began. The Federal government received a quick answer about how long it would take for the poor to riot. I contend that this was a beta test designed to gauge future behavior when Obama uses food as a weapon for real.

Would a modern day American president, in one of the most civilized countries in the world, actually resort to barbarism and starve a vast amount of Americans into submission?

The Obama Facade Cracks at Last

The Obama Facade Cracks at Last
Only now -- five years into his presidency -- are we seeing some cracks in the protective shield surrounding President Obama, and then only after the abuse of reporters' privacy has been threatened. Mainstream journalists have not scrutinized his controversial policies, nor have they held him accountable for questionable actions that have caused outrage among fair-minded critics and produced irreparable harm to the nation.

Spying on the president -- Obama, Merkel and the NSA
Now we know how pervasive this NSA spying is: It not only reaches the Supreme Court, the Pentagon, the CIA, the local police and the cellphones and homes of all Americans; it reaches the Oval Office itself. Yet when the president denies that he knows of this, that denial leads to more questions. The president claims he can start secret foreign wars using the CIA, secretly kill Americans using drones, and now secretly spy on anyone anywhere using the NSA.

Nine senior commanding generals have been fired by the Obama administration this year, leading to speculation by active and retired members of the military that a purge of its commanders is underway. Retired generals and current senior commanders...say the administration is not only purging the military of commanders they don’t agree with, but is striking fear in the hearts of those still serving.

Obama Firing of Military Reminiscent of Stalin's Purge
The similarities of distrust and fear between the Soviet “Man of Iron” and the latest POTUS should not go unnoticed. Any student of the last century is familiar with the Stalinist mayhem. Russian history is plagued with atrocities, but the reign of Soviet commissars’ is especially brutal. Uncle Joe’s victims of Soviet Terror, is estimated at 20 million killed during the 1930s by V. Chistyakovoy at the height of the purges with 3.7-7.7% of Red Army officers removed. Are we witnessing the beginning of an American version of a parallel motivation just at lower levels at this point?

DARPA developing implant to monitor brain in real time
In a bid to improve the mental health of soldiers and veterans, DARPA has launched a $70 million project to create an implant that tracks neuron activity and provides quantifiable brain data. There’s a high incidence of mental illness reported among soldiers compared with the general population — in fact, one in nine medical discharges is due to mental illness, according to US Army statistics. This is not surprising. If you ask people to see and do horrific things, it will likely impact them in pretty significant ways.

Progressive push to normalize pedophilia

There is no question. There is categorically a movement to normalize pedophilia. I’ve witnessed it firsthand and, despite “progressive” protestations to the contrary, the “pedophile rights” movement is inexorably linked to the so-called “gay rights” movement.  http://www.wnd.com/2013/10/lefts-new-crusade-adult-kid-sex/
Sodomite couple sexually abused adopted boy for years

An American pedophile has been convicted to 40 years in prison for years of sexual abuse of adopted Russian boy. His boyfriend who assisted in meticulously recording acts of sexual offence is going on trial at home.

Government schools exempted from sex-abuse lawsuits

Private academies must defend claims going back 40 years

(Breitbart) California Senate Bill 131, which is ostensibly about protecting victims of child sex abuse, forces private schools to defend claims of sexual abuse as far back as 40 years ago, but exempts public schools from such claims. Our pagan government has long used its various institutions as instruments to identify, abduct, groom and initiate children into pedophile rings for the power elite...  they believe that ritual abuse, corruption of innocence, and offering blood sacrifice of the innocent gives them greater occult, social, and political power...

Our schools are even teaching our children how to commit sexual sin.

God’s Word makes it quite clear that all sexual activity outside of a, one-man one-woman marriage, is a sin. Homosexuality is an abomination to God, but Satan plants the poisonous tares by saying that it is just a choice of lifestyle. How many single people sitting in pews on Sunday morning have spent Saturday night in bed with their girlfriend or boyfriend? “It’s just human nature,” says the father of all lies, but God’s Word tells us differently. I choose to bring up sexual sin because it is widespread, condoned, and encouraged in music, TV shows, movies, and books, but any behavior that is contrary to God’s word needs to be changed. Our schools are even teaching our children how to commit sexual sin. The wheat will grow strong in the Lord, but the tares will poison those who partake of it.

Possible Human Bones, 'Occult' Altar Found In Home By Cleaning Crew
Animal skulls, chains, bones from a goat and possibly other animals, a skull mask with a black hood, candles and a machete were among the items that were found in the home's backyard shed. Police say that some of the bones, including a partial skull, are suspected of being human and have been sent to an out-of-state lab to determine whether any DNA evidence can be found.
