Christian Persecution Spreads

Obama Immigration Rules Favor Muslims over Christians
As President Obama offers asylum to "minor" terrorists providing "limited" material support to terrorism, he's slamming shut the door on thousands of Christians fleeing terrorism in Muslim lands like Egypt. In another end-run around Congress, President Obama has unilaterally eased immigration requirements for foreigners linked to terrorism. He ordered the State Department and Homeland Security to ignore a post-9/11 law barring entry to those giving political or charitable aid to Hamas and other known terrorist groups.

US Government Leaves Religious Freedom Post Empty
VOM's Todd Nettleton was interviewed last week by Mission Network News for a story about Christian persecution hearings held in Washington DC and especially about the currently-vacant post within the U.S. State Department of "Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom."

Christian Persecution Spreads
In opening this congressional hearing, Rep. Smith pointed out that Christians right now face violence, displacement, or discrimination in 110 nations of the world, and that the 2.3 billion Christians alive today may form the world's largest religion, but that they are also the most persecuted religious group. Rep. Chris Smith said: "It is a huge problem and it's getting worse, not just in the Middle East, but in China, in North Korea and elsewhere." He added that there has been an explosion of persecution against Christians, including martyrdom, torture, and harassment of all kinds.

Instances of attempts to ban and destroy copies of the Holy Bible are increasingly coming to light. This is being done in the name of constitutional violation, and religious neutrality. This trend demonstrates the determination of atheists and secular humanists to silence the truth and power of the Bible as far as they can.
Administrators at a hotel run by Iowa State University have given the boot to Bibles in their guest rooms after protest from a religious separatist group. The push to remove the books began when a guest at the Hotel Memorial Union complained to Freedom From Religion Foundation about the “unwelcome religious propaganda in the bedside table,” according to a local NBC News affiliate.

With “state polygamy,” Tucker recently wrote for Human Events, lower-income women find themselves “free to pursue men on purely reproductive grounds — mating with men who are attractive or intelligent and otherwise have ‘good genes’ without having to worry about getting them to settle down as husbands.” The results, Tucker said, have been disastrous.

Without Warning, Sudan Demolishes Church
Without any prior warning, Sudanese authorities suddenly demolished a church in Omdurman Monday in what some Christians believe is a campaign by President Omar al-Bashir to rid his Islamist country of Christianity, according to Morning Star News. Bulldozers escorted by local police leveled the Sudanese Church of Christ that was located across the river from Khartoum. Muslim officials gave no reason for the action save that the 300-member church was not wanted there.

The bodies of seven Egyptian Christians have been found on a beach near the Libyan city of Benghazi, officials say. They died after being shot in the head and chest, security officials said. A Libyan interior ministry official told the BBC's Rana Jawad that authorities could not "at this stage speculate on the motive of the crime".

Anne Frank's Diary vandalized in Japan libraries
More than 100 copies of Anne Frank's Diary of a Young Girl have been vandalized in public libraries in Japan's capital Tokyo, officials say. Pages have been ripped from at least 265 copies of the diary and other related books, they added. It is not clear who is behind the vandalism. A US Jewish rights group has called for a police investigation.

News ‘Knock That White Boy Out’: Arrests Made After Mob Of Teens Attack Disabled Vet
Cleveland authorities have made several arrests following the mob beating of a disabled Army veteran by a group of teenagers. Last Friday, the victim, Matthew Robinson, was surrounded by between six and eight teenagers while riding the RTA Healthline. Robinson told WOIO that he was attacked by the teens, then robbed of his possessions. During the attack, the teens made several derogatory remarks about Robinson. “What they were saying was, ‘Knock that boy out!’ ‘White boy.’ ‘Cracker,’” he was quoted as saying about the incident. “They were saying, ‘Knock that white boy out.’”

Rush Limbaugh: Heterosexuals Are 'Under Assault' By Homosexuals
Heterosexuals are "under assault" by the small percentage of those who are homosexual, and the media are determined to turn football player Michael Sam into a hero, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh says. "They're under assault. You say, 'Heterosexuality may be 95, 98 percent of the population," Limbaugh said on his radio program. "They're under assault by the 2 to 5 percent that are homosexual."
