Obamanation puts squeeze on Americans for political gain

Obamacare is going to crash and burn from technical issues more than political concerns, it seems. You’ve probably already heard that virtually no one can sign up using the online Obamacare exchanges. The web forms are broken. The code is buggy. The data integration is a jaw-dropping failure.

Obama Refused Budget Negotiations in Meeting
“Saying you won’t communicate guarantees you’re going to have a problem,” Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, the third-ranking Republican in the House, said today.

Barrycades: Feds Try to Shut Down Privately Owned Mount Vernon
The National Park Service erected barricades to shut down parking lots surrounding Mount Vernon despite the fact that the tourist destination is privately owned, another example of how the feds are deliberately worsening the government shut down. ...Numerous hiking and biking trails throughout the greater DC region, despite requiring zero...maintenance or patrols, have been closed down. Irate citizens are...using them anyway.

Boehner to Obama: No Way House Passing Debt Deal Without Spending Cuts; We're Currently on Path to Default
With more than a week ahead of the debt ceiling deadline and six days into a partial shutdown, House Speaker John Boehner said Sunday President Obama is risking default by not discussing House Republicans' demand for delay or defunding of the health care law and new spending cuts.

‘Your History Is Wrong,’ Obama’s Refusal to Negotiate Is ‘Unprecedented’
Fox News’ Chris Wallace grilled Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Sunday, repeatedly asking him questions regarding the president’s refusal to negotiate with Republicans in Congress over the budget.

The official website of the AMBER Alert program has been taken offline, due to the federal government shutdown. ...It was immediately unclear when the website was taken down. However, it should be noted that First Lady Michelle Obama’s website for her “Let’s Move” campaign is still up, running and fully functional.

Shutdown halts federal regs
The government shutdown has all but turned off the regulatory spigot, reducing the flow of new rules from federal agencies to a trickle. Regulators and proponents of stronger protections warn that rulemaking delays will jeopardize public safety and health. But some conservatives say the reprieve from red tape is welcome, even if it doesn’t last long.

US shutdown: Defence staff told to return to work
Most of the 400,000 US defence department staff sent home amid the US government shutdown have been told to return to work next week. Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel said the decision was based on an interpretation of the Pay Our Military Act. A budget row between Republicans and Democrats has forced the closure of federal services for five days now.

What a 'Shutdown' Means: $63B Spent, $26B Taxed; $1.6B Borrowed; $1B Paid in Salaries--in Just 2 Days
In general terms, politicians and the press may be referring to what has been happening in Washington, D.C., over the past few days as a government "shutdown" or a "partial government shutdown," but the actual accounting sheets of the U.S. Treasury show that massive amounts of taxed and borrowed money were flowing in and out of the government during the first two days of fiscal 2014. According to the Daily Treasury Statement for Oct. 2, which was released yesterday at 4:00 p.m., the Treasury spent a total of $63.262 billion in the first two days of fiscal 2014. At the same time, it took in $25.681 billion in tax revenue.

Republicans rip White House in shutdown reprisal
Republicans launched a furious counter-attack on the White House as the US government shutdown drags into a fifth day with no end in sight. With lawmakers heading into the weekend, Congress appeared no closer to resolving the impasse, even as a far more challenging fiscal hurdle -- the need to raise the US debt ceiling or suffer a catastrophic credit default -- was barely 12 days away.

Obamacare subjects entire nation to ransom demands of coercive government
You've probably noticed I'm not covering pure politics anymore here on Natural News, but I am covering Obamacare and health issues quite intensely. And when it comes to Obamacare, you can't separate the insane politics from the Affordable Care Act policies, so I'll give you an advance warning that this article delves into some hard-hitting issues of what I believe is really wrong with America today.

Boehner: Obama Has Slammed Door on Opening Government
House Speaker John Boehner on Tuesday blamed President Barack Obama for the first partial shutdown of the federal government in 17 years, blaming his "scorched-Earth policy of refusing to negotiate in [a] bipartisan way on his health care law, current government funding or the debt limit." "The president isn't telling the whole story when it comes to the government shutdown," the Ohio Republican said in an op-ed piece in USA Today. "The fact is that Washington Democrats have slammed the door on reopening the government by refusing to engage in bipartisan talks.

Obama, Hill leaders fail to solve shutdown impasse
The government limped into a third day of partial shutdown Thursday after a White House meeting among President Barack Obama and top congressional leaders yielded no signs of progress but plenty of evidence that Democrats and Republicans remained riven over a dispute that has idled hundreds of thousands of federal workers and curtailed services nationwide.

The newest Republican plan was to keep open national parks, veterans services and the District of Columbia, an approach modeled on recommendations of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who has led the GOP’s strategy in the standoff that resulted in the first shutdown of the federal government in 17 years. “If the Democrats are really concerned about funding the VA, let’s fund it,” said Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.), as House Republicans emerged from an afternoon strategy session.

Priests Risk Arrest for Offering Sacraments to Catholic Troops During Shutdown
Some Catholic priests under contract or GS (general schedule) to the military are not allowed to offer the Catholic sacraments–including saying Mass, consecrating marriages, or performing baptisms–on military property during the government shutdown, and if they do, even on a volunteer basis, they risk being arrested, according to the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.

US government shuts down as Congress misses deadline
"The American people don't want a shutdown and neither do I," he said. Yet, he added, the new health care law "is having a devastating impact. ... Something has to be done."

SHUTDOWN: Congress Fails to Reach Agreement by Midnight Deadline
Congress has missed the deadline for averting the first partial government shutdown in 17 years. The Office of Management and Budget released a memo just before midnight on Monday instructing agencies to “now execute plans for an orderly shutdown due to the absence of appropriations.”

US shutdown: Barack Obama warns of default danger
US President Barack Obama has warned that Wall Street should be concerned that a conservative faction of Republicans is willing to allow the country to default on its debt.

U.S. deadlock hits dollar, weakens shares
World stock markets began to shake on Wednesday in response to a U.S. government shutdown that shows no signs of ending soon, also sending the dollar to a one-month low against the yen.

America’s biggest banks are stockpiling extra cash in their ATMs, amid fears that the government shutdown and the threat of a US default will induce a sudden panic among their customers.

Government worried about citizen uprising
That said, there’s no shortage of shockingly invasive tactics our government is employing to keep track of its servants … er, citizens. In fact, it seems that more and more of what our government is doing is keeping track – close track – of what we’re all up to. vWhy is this happening? What’s with the government’s fascination – no, obsession – with keeping tabs on anything and everything we do? There is endless speculation, of course, but ultimately it is to prevent a citizen uprising.

Man sets himself on fire on the National Mall
A man set himself on fire on the National Mall in the nation's capital as passers-by rushed over to help put out the flames, officials and witnesses said Friday afternoon. The reason for the self-immolation was not immediately clear and the man's identity was not disclosed. But it occurred in public view, on a central national gathering place, in a city still rattled by a mass shooting last month and a high-speed car chase outside the U.S. Capitol on Thursday that ended with a woman being shot dead by police with a young child in the car.

D.C. Cops Running Drill on Same Day as Capitol Shooting
The drill “also trains and prepares the Department of Defense to provide defense support to civil authorities and employ appropriate force protection measures as requested,” force protection measures necessary to protect the homeland like those employed today in the brutal shooting of the 34-year-old dental hygienist.
