Sixth graders at the Bryant School District in Arkansas were given an assignment to “revise” the “outdated” Bill of Rights by deleting and replacing two amendments, using the “War on Terror” and the Patriot Act as a guide.
Students weren’t taught about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights before they were assigned to destroy them.
The worksheet, which is the first Constitutional assignment of the school year, tells students that they will be on a “National Revised Bill of Rights Task Force” who will “prioritize, prune, and add amendments” for a “Revised Bill of Rights.” “The government of the United States is currently revisiting the Bill of Rights,” the assignment states. “They have determined that it is outdated and may not remain in its current form any longer.”
Ok I’m noticing something very strange here. First of all, wouldn’t you say that most of the opposition to the current President and government comes from the South? I would too. Strangely though, when stories like this come out to the public, they are occuring in the south. So why would the bastion of defiance also be the place where the government, possibly,is using dirty underhanded tactics like this one to usurp the constitution? Doesnt make a whole lot of sense does it? It is fact however that crap like this is creeping its way into our schools and eventually, if left unchecked, someday, people will demand the constitution be scraped. -Mort
