OVER-POPULATION MYTHS

One of the tools the Pro-abortion community uses to further their agenda is the OVER POPULATION MYTH. I can't count the number of times I've picked up a newspaper or magazine, or heard on the television (all too willing to propagate the lie) news, the "ever increasing population problem" and how we're "in the process of destroying 'mother earth' (Father God never said ANYTHING about a mother earth) because of all the people that are covering our planet."

When in fact, quite the opposite is true. Contrary to Planned Parenthood propaganda, world population growth trends are measurably declining and too much so for industrialized nations. In fact, since America is aborting 1.4 million of it's preborn children every year, if it weren't for immigration, our population would now be declining.

Planned Parenthood hosted a lecture a few years back in Sarasota, Florida, by Werner Fornos, who the paper hailed as an "internationally recognized leader in the field of population growth."

His topic for the evening was "Gaining People, Losing Ground". The fact that it was hosted by Planned Parenthood tells you what the solution was...(as Planned Parenthood promotes in China - No choice for the Chinese) Government forced abortion.

The following are three examples aimed at showing you just how far away we are from being over-populated:
United States map with example locations highlighted...

Example #1 - According to United Nations 1998 world population estimates there will be nearly 6 billion people on the planet as of 1999. If you took these 6 billion people, split them up into family units of four and gave them each a piece of land 50' x 50', the entire population of the planet would fit very easily into the state of Montana (with over 300 billion square feet left over!).
Sounds amazing doesn't it?  Don't believe me?   I will PROVE it!
  • Montana has 145,388 square miles of land
  • Which equals 4,053,184,819,200 square feet (145,388 x 27,878,400*) in Montana
  • Each family unit gets a piece of land 50' x 50' which equals 2,500 square feet
  • The world population is currently almost 6 billion people (as of 1999)
  • That number divided by four (since there would be four persons per family) equals 1.5 billion
  • 1.5 billion x 2,500 square feet per family unit equals 3,750,000,000,000 square feet needed
Square feet in Montana

Square feet needed for 1.5 billion family units
4,053,184,819,200
       (subtract)
3,750,000,000,000

Example #2
 - Lets say we give all 6 billion people on the planet 1,000 square feet each, did you realize that they all would fit very easily into the state of Texas (with over 1,300 billion square feet left over!).
Sounds amazing doesn't it?  Don't believe me?   I will PROVE it!
  • Texas has 262,015 square miles of land
  • Which equals 7,304,558,976,000 square feet (262,015 x 27,878,400*) in Texas
  • Each person gets 1,000 square feet of land
  • The world population is currently almost 6 billion people (as of 1999)
  • 6 billion x 1,000 square feet per person equals 6,000,000,000,000 square feet needed
Square feet in Texas

Square feet needed for 6 billion people
7,304,558,976,000
       (subtract)
6,000,000,000,000
Left over space PROVING example #21,304,558,976,000

Example #3
 - Imagine yourself standing up in the middle of a square 1-1/2' x 1-1/2'. If the entire planet's 6 billion people all stood in identical squares, they would all fit within the city limits of Jacksonville, Florida (with over 9.7 billion square feet left over!).
Sounds amazing doesn't it?  Don't believe me?   I will PROVE it!
  • Jacksonville, Florida has 834 square miles of land
  • Which equals 23,250,585,600 square feet (834 x 27,878,400*) in Jacksonville, Florida
  • Each person occupies a square 1-1/2' x 1-1/2' which equals 2.25 square feet
  • The world population is currently almost 6 billion people (as of 1999)
  • 6 billion x 2.25 square feet per person equals 13,500,000,000 square feet needed
Square feet in Jacksonville, Florida

Square feet needed for 6 billion people
23,250,585,600
       (subtract)
13,500,000,000
Left over space PROVING example #39,750,585,600

Now I'm certainly not saying that we could live our day to day lives in the above three examples. I'm just trying to make the point that we are NOT over-populated. You see, the 'population explosion' myth is just one more attempt by the people that profit from abortion to convince the world that killing children in the womb is not only a right, but an enforceable must.

So the next time you hear someone parroting the "Over-Population" excuse for abortion...get out your calculator, and set the record straight!
