Antibiotic Resistance
As shown in this chart provided by the Centers for Disease Control, antibiotic resistance does not develop through the evolution of new kinds of organisms; rather it is through the selective survival of microbes that already possess the “work-around” that enables them to survive assault by antibiotics to which they are exposed.
