Active Volcano discovered in Antartica

Volcano discovery hints at fire below ice in Antarctica
Seismologists working in a mountainous area of Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica detected a swarm of low-magnitude earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 similar to those that can precede volcanic eruptions, according to a study published online Sunday in Nature Geoscience. The area of activity lies close to the youngest in a chain of volcanoes...

Antarctica Reveals a Secret to The World
Antarctica reveals a secret to the world, and that is it has an active volcano below the ice, scientists stated in a research report printed in the journal Nature Geoscience. The discovery finally settles the long-held belief that volcanic action has been hidden by western Antarctic ice. Numerous volcanoes rise up next to the Antarctic coastline and its islands, but this is the very first time that magma has been noticed in action so far inland.

X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE
Sprawling suunspot AR1897 erupted on Nov. 19th (10:26 UT), producing an X1-class solar flare. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the explosion's extreme ultraviolet flash.
Indonesia's Sinabung and Merapi Volcanoes Erupt
Two volcanoes erupted Monday in Indonesia, prompting warnings for flights and evacuation preparations, official said. Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra province unleashed volcanic ash as high as 8,000 meters (26,250 feet), the highest of its eruptions in recent days, said government volcano expert Surono.

Scotia Sea Earthquakes on the Move
On the heels of a 5.0 magnitude quake along the Scotia tectonic plates, a 7.8M quake shook things up further, however, no damage has been reported. The US Geological Survey (USGS) reports all earthquake activity with a bare bones description of the activity. Reports of damage caused by quakes are typically covered by other new agencies and geologic societies. The Scotia Sea is the area of water, typically cold and stormy, between the lands of South America, and the islands that make up Tierra de Fuego, near Argentina. The Drake Passage borders it.

Earthquake wave rocks the Balkans
Four earthquakes were recorded in only a few hours in Croatia and in neighboring Greece and Romania in the past 48 hours.

Tremor Now Recognized As Earthquake
Once all the data were shaken out, it turns out that rumble in Chicago's western suburbs last week WAS an earthquake.

Deadly tornadoes hit US Midwest states
Powerful tornadoes have swept through the US Midwest, destroying buildings and overturning vehicles in the states of Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. At least six people were killed, all in Illinois, and it is feared that several hundred people may have been injured in the fast-moving storms.

Sardinia hit by deadly cyclone and flooding
At least 17 people have been killed in flooding prompted by a cyclone and heavy rain that lashed the Italian island of Sardinia. A number of people are reported missing after rivers burst their banks, sweeping cars away and causing bridges to collapse. The worst-hit area appears to be in and around the north-eastern city of Olbia.

Floods kill many in central Vietnam after heavy rains
Flooding and landslides in central Vietnam have left at least 28 people dead, nine missing and some 80,000 homeless since Friday. Lives were lost across five provinces, according to the National Flood and Storm Control Agency, quoted by the Associated Press. In Quang Ngai province, flood waters reportedly rose above a previous peak recorded in 1999.

Philippine city overwhelmed by task of burying typhoon victims
In a hilltop cemetery, a truck stacked high with body bags backed up to a yawning trench. With no time for ceremony, police and firefighters wearing face masks and plastic gloves unloaded the bags and placed them in a communal grave. A week after one of the strongest typhoons on record swept through the central Philippines, the task of burying the dead remains in full gear here in Tacloban, the hardest-hit city. Some bodies still lie in the streets. Other corpses remain buried under towering piles of rubble.

3 Earthquakes Detected Near North Texas Town
Three earthquakes in one day have been detected around a North Texas town that has already seen a swarm of seven earthquakes in the past month. The U.S. Geological Survey detected three earthquakes Tuesday around Azle, 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Is the cosmos telling us the end is near?
Does God use the sun, moon, and stars to communicate with the faithful? For centuries believers have questioned if He uses the heavens to announce things to come for humankind. Fox News Chief Religion Correspondent Lauren Green asked Cornerstone Church Pastor John Hagee about the significance of four blood moons and whether they are prophecy from God.
