European cities are braced for violent clashes this weekend as people take to the streets to protest against Israeli military operations in Gaza. Thousands of police are being deployed in cities across Europe with Berlin alone deploying 1,500 police officers in a response and authorities in Paris have sought to ban outright marches planned for this weekend.

The IDF struck over 70 targets in Gaza overnight between Monday and Tuesday, including the home and offices of Ismail Heniyeh, head of Hamas's political wing. Both buildings were used as a command center to manage terrorism, the IDF said. Four mosques used to store weapons, a terrorism tunnel, and an underground rocket launcher located near a mosque were also attacked, the IDF added.  

Gaza's sole power plant ablaze, Palestinians blame IDF
Palestinian witnesses said Israeli tank fire hit the fuel depot of the Gaza Strip's only power plant on Tuesday, cutting electricity to Gaza City and many other parts of the Palestinian enclave of 1.8 million people. A thick column of black smoke rose from the facility, which supplies the territory with two-thirds of its energy needs, and the fuel containers were in flames.  

More Americans blame Hamas over Israel for violence, poll finds
About 4 in 10 Americans say that Hamas is most responsible for the violence while 2 in 10 put most of the responsibility on Israel, the new survey by the Pew Research Center shows. An additional 14% of respondents blamed both sides and about 3 in 10 said they did not know.
