DARPA taps Lawrence Livermore to develop world's first neural device to restore memory
he Department of Defense's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) awarded Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) up to $2.5 million to develop an implantable neural device with the ability to record and stimulate neurons within the brain to help restore memory, DARPA officials announced this week. 


Chinese hackers 'broke into US personnel network'
Chinese hackers broke into a US government network in an attempt to gain personal information on thousands of employees, US media report. First reported by the New York Times, the hackers in March allegedly targeted those applying for high-level security clearance positions. Secretary of State John Kerry called the incident an "attempted intrusion" that was still under investigation.
