Even evolution theorist now believes in the idea of creation

An intellectual tsunami occurred last year, and the waves of the tremendous upheaval are beginning to reach the shores of academia.

In late 2004, Anthony Flew announced to the world that he could no longer hold to his lifetime commitment to atheism and now believes that the universe was created. The English philosopher is one of the most well known and influential philosophers in the world. He has been the foremost debater in the defense of the godless worldview and its cornerstone belief in evolution.

For more than 54 years, Flew taught, wrote, debated and lived his commitment to an accidental and meaningless universe. Some have said that Flew's change of mind would be comparable to Billy Graham denouncing Christianity.

What convinced a person of such conviction and superior intellect to change his mind? For Flew it was simply a matter of intellectual honesty. 'My whole life has been guided by the principle of Plato's Socrates,' he says, 'follow the evidence wherever it leads.' Specifically, it was the definitive evidence from science regarding creation which led to his conversion.

Flew stated: "Biologists' investigation of DNA has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce (life), that intelligence must have been involved. ... It has become inordinately difficult even to begin to think about constructing a naturalistic theory of the evolution of that first reproducing organism.

"I have been persuaded that it is simply out of the question that the first living matter evolved out of dead matter and then developed into an extraordinarily complicated creature."

For years, the proponents of Darwinian evolution have considered creationists as ignorant, flat earth fundamentalists who couldn't possibly have an intelligent thought.

However, as the mechanistic evolutionary model collapses around them, evolutionists will, if they are intellectually honest, have to consider the possibility that the origin of the universe came from the hand of an intelligent creator.

Anthony Flew is not now a Christian, or even a person who believes in a personal God, but he is no longer an atheist or an evolutionist. In addition, Flew regrets the damage he has done to his students and to the educational establishment stating: "As people have certainly been influenced by me, I want to try and correct the enormous damage I may have done."

Perhaps others in the educational community will abandon their error and accept the scientific evidence for creation. I hope so.
